A few months ago Katie Felinger, a local Philadelphia television meteorologist for CBS, posted on Facebook to address some negative, and truly disturbing, remarks that she’d received about her appearance. At the time, Katie was 35 weeks pregnant which put her at the 8 month mark, and was carrying twin girls in her big baby bump. It seemed as though some of the stations viewers were unhappy about her pregnant on-air appearances and they took to social media to air their hateful opinions.

While many people showed her love and support, a few trolls were anything but that. Instead, they left hateful comments, calling her a “sausage in casing,” and one message even read “sticking your pregnant abdomen out like that is disgusting.” At first she tried to ignore it all, but it soon became too much to just brush aside and she was deeply hurt by the comments. Katie decided to deal with the insults head on and that’s when she posted a response to the trolls on her personal Facebook page. Ever since then her post has gone viral and thousands of people have left comments and messages of encouragement and support for her.

The response was immediate and overwhelming. Katie’s message hit a chord with women all over the world and mothers-to-be from everywhere sent in pictures of their own baby bumps to show support and stand in solidarity with her.
