Elvis the baby Bulldog had a rough start in life. The adorably sweet all-white male was the only puppy in his litter and he was born with a cleft lip. His birth defect made it appear like he was always sneering so his owners, Rob Brixey and his wife, decided to name the little puppy Elvis!
For the first couple weeks of his life, tiny little Elvis had to be bottle fed by Rob’s wife. The cleft had made it nearly impossible for the newborn to nurse and so she hand fed him until he was finally ready to eat solid food. Thanks to all the love and care Elvis received, he was able to grow up into a happy and healthy Bulldog.
From this video Rob posted, you can see how much Elvis looks like his loving mother. The big all-white girl is named Patches and she clearly adores her son, even when he gets all testy and cranky! Elvis is not only an energetic puppy, he’s also quite vocal! The little fella makes his discontent known to all by gently pawing at his mom and making some strange, yet oddly comforting, sounds. If you listen closely, the noises coming from his mouth and chest are more cat-like than canine! It kind of sounds like a rumbling, purring, grumpy type of bark, which is just funny and adorable to listen to.
Elvis’s quirky noises make Rob and his wife laugh and Patches doesn’t seem to mind them either. All that she seems to want to do is clean him up and cuddle with him!
Once Elvis had grown up a little bit more he went away to his forever home. Rob and his wife made sure that he went to a good, loving family and it turned out that their veterinary technician, whom they all knew and were very familiar with, took him in. The woman had treated Elvis from the day he was born and she’d always wanted a beautiful white Bulldog. In the end, the placement worked out perfectly and Elvis’s new family absolutely love and adore their new dog!
