of BENJI, who had been homeless for most of his life. Eldad and Lisa, from Hope For Paws, got the call that this badly matted dog, covered with ticks and fleas was spotted under a parked car.
Terrified of humans, when Benji saw the approach of his potential rescuers, he took off running. Watching them use their gentle snare once they caught up with him, and his struggle to get loose is upsetting to watch. However, knowing the miraculous and humane work of Hope For Paws, got me through watching the dog’s initial torment.
You will see his incredible physical transformation as he is groomed and given medical attention. However, the transformation of his soul was a much longer process. Living at Lisa Chiarelli’s house with her two dogs, was initially quite challenging for Benji. He was remote and resistant to human touch. Little by little, you will see how the combination of loving human touch and social interaction with the two dogs, allowed Benji to establish trust and eventually become a happy playful pup. Further rehabilitation at PAL rescue over the course of 5 months, changed the life of this abandoned, hopeless pup into one filled with promise.
